I found a fantastic recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies on allrecipes.com. I tried it out and it is fabulous! This is my only chocolate chip cookie recipe now. Plus it makes a LOT of dough. I rolled some up and it is in the refrigerator now. After these are gone, there will be more fresh cookies coming!
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown
***I also added about a teaspoon of salt, just because every chocolate chip recipe I have tried has used salt. I did not add nuts because my kids will not eat them also. I also used real unsalted sweet cream butter (the great value brand). I used the cheap version of everything, including the pudding. I made larger cookies. I fit about 6-8 on a cookie sheet instead of 12 so as to give enough room so they didn’t stick together in between. These cookies came out extremely fantastic and they looked just as good! These are a hit with my family, I am sure they will be with yours too. *FYI Make sure to use a big bowl. There is a lot of ingredients to mix in this one, and like I said before, it makes more than the normal recipe. Happy baking! Enjoy!
